Project Overview
I got contacted by Evil Needle (a french music producer based in Strasbourg) to create an animated promo for his new drum kit that he is selling on his website. Above the beat he created with his drum kit, I designed a storyboard showing how "punchy" it is and what kind of instruments people can find in this kit. He got inspired by my "Cocky Pigeon" project's character and wanted me to create a promotional video with it. I first sketched scene frames to define the storyline, then imported it on top of the music to see what the final result might look like. After that I illustrated every scene in vector art and composed them into after effects. I used some plugins like rubberhose to animate the arms and the body. After the animated character scenes, I animated the informative text in a kinetic type style at the end by adding nice complementary effects to tease the different elements inside of the kit.
